Your MOT expiry date, explained
The expiry date is the final day covered by your current MOT certificate. It is the date to enter in the zacdaddy planner.
Where can I find it?
- Use the official MOT status service. You will need the vehicle registration number.
- Check your current MOT certificate. Look for the expiry date, not the date the test was carried out.
What about a new vehicle?
Most vehicles need their first MOT by the third anniversary of registration. Some vehicle types are tested earlier, so check the official requirements if you are unsure.
What if the displayed date looks wrong?
Do not guess. Confirm it using the official service before arranging a test. The planner does not look up or verify vehicle records.
